Now, there are other such tv shows/movies that have gone for the unresolved mystery route, but the execution of the show just leaves one asking for more. And the trap door reveal with Karen just showed us that there might be multiple other ways into the house, meaning we don't have conclusive evidence the neighbours were involved either. John Graff is almost certainly somehow involved with what happened to the Brannocks, but to what extent is impossible to pin down. It's quite frustrating how it could literally be anyone, maybe the original story of the Watcher is real, maybe they are indeed from some weird family who watches over the house through generations and is a completely unknown person like the librarian or something. Looking at all the evidence- including how the preservation society head and John Graff were colluding, the Watcher is clearly a collective effort, although can't say for certain if it was those two or others, and I refuse to believe the Police dept is plainly incompetent, they certainly have some role. The other woman was convinced it was one guy and didn't go around digging, while Dean and Nora just couldn't let it go. I do wonder, what if the Brannocks had just let it be like that other woman who received letters from The Watcher, and tried to get on with their lives while not trying to disturb the house much. The unresolved ending, while on par with the overall theme of the show, also felt disappointing. Every single character was such an annoying ass. Honestly, I was disappointed by the amount of potential this show had and what it ended up becoming, the first episode did a great job at pulling you in but the subsequent ones went downhill imo, barring episode 3.
